Unique Rusty Franklin Boots
Boots purchased from Harry Hudson's former western-wear store, Two Moons Trading Company, was an unusual place.
One day many more than two moons ago, Dallas (now LA) artist Jimmy Sasso, Eugene Lopez (I think) from Rusty Franklin bootmakers, and Harry Hudson and I were all there. Jimmy Sasso made the original artwork. Sasso and I worked out the themes: Sex, Death, God, Satan, Adam and Eve, and a few others not as easy to remember.
Eugene said they'd recreate the artwork in inlaid leather with an ostrich vamp, but it would take 6 months. It took 8.
That's how it happened. But I haven't had the lower body dexterity to wear any boots in quite some time. "Sic transit gloria." I only wore them 4 or 5 times. Because of the small discoloration (from water, I think) on the inside lower vamp of the right boot, I have made this a great price on wonderful work by the now-retired, legendary Rusty Franklin--in particular his genius lead-bootmaker, Eugene Lopez. Size 14D.
$450, or best offer.
You can find out more about Rusty Franklin Boots on pages 68-69 of Tyler Beard's & Jim Arndt's "The Cowboy Boot Book".
